LINKVIVA is a leading events agency based in Dubai responsible for some of the most iconic events and exciting festivals and sporting events and we recently opened our office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Already proud organizers in Riyadh for Sport for All and Ministry of Sport we aim to grow our portfolio and be one of the most important players in the Kingdom. 

To help us establish our office in Riyadh, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Director. 

About the Role:

The Business Development Director will play a pivotal role in representing LINKVIVA to clients and creating tailored event solutions to meet their needs. The role will require you grow our client base by effective account management.  This senior management role will also develop and lead our commercial strategy and ensure its implementation. 

You will lever your comprehensive event experience  and contacts in the region to engage with Saudi corporates and government entities effectively. The ability to understand the sales process, present to clients and deliver results is essential for this role.

You will also lead the commercial team and set the highest of standards. You will motivate and train them and create a client focused culture second to none. 

Specifically, the Business Development Director should: 

1. Client Engagement and Relationship Building:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, ministries, and government departments in Saudi Arabia.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and objectives.
  • Be responsible for sourcing leads and presenting LINKVIVA’s portfolio at the highest level. 
  • Deliver all financial targets. 
  • Manage the sales process from prospecting to closing deals. 

2. Implementation of Sales Strategy 

  • Develop and execute a pre-agreed sales strategy to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Set benchmarks and KPIs and consistently compare performance against them- e.g. conversion of RFPS, relationship and penetration of key clients. 

3. Solution Development, Presentation and Communication 

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their event requirements and challenges.
  • Create customized event solutions that align with client goals and budget.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and proposals to clients, showcasing the value of LINKVIVA's services.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address questions, concerns, and feedback.

4. Management of Executives 

  • Train and motivate a team of executives and ensure they deliver quality in their work. 
  • Ensure they remain motivated and are driven to achieve their targets. 
  • Offer positive feedback and hands on guidance in everything they do.

5. Market Understanding:

  • Stay informed about the events sector in Saudi Arabia, including trends, competitors, and potential new opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue new business prospects within the market.
  • Respond to RFPs and present a rationale and case for which ones we should pitch for. 

6. Excellent administration and organizational skills 

  • Write monthly report updating results against your benchmarks. 
  • Ensure our CRM system ODOO is up to date, concise and accurate. 
  • Monitor and report sales activities, interpret the data and turn into strategy. 

7. Passion, Drive, and a Team player 

  • Demonstrate a strong passion for the events industry and a relentless drive to succeed.
  • Be a role model to the rest of the organization by setting the highest standards. 
  • Collaborate with other departments and ensure an effective work processes.

About You

You should be:

  • Having a proven track record in working for an events agency generating revenue. Similar fields will be considered. 
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to achieve commercial targets ideally in the events industry. 
  • Possessing excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Evidence of managing salespeople and generating results. 
  • Results-oriented mindset. 
  • Passionate, hardworking, and motivated to excel in a dynamic environment.
  • Evidence of using CRM systems. 
  • Ability to demonstrate and organized and disciplined approach to work. 

As a minimum, you should have:

  • An experienced business developer with 10 years of experience in events industry of similar field. 
  • A strong network of contacts with government departments and Saudi corporates. 
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic both written and spoken.
